Short version: the chatbot explains the general rules for internationals living in Denmark and shows you where they come from. It is not a lawyer, an accountant or a public authority, and it can be wrong. Check the linked sources and ask a professional about your own case.
Who provides the service
Ask Hej Danmark at hejdanmark.dk/chat/ is provided by Aspen Studio, which runs Hej Danmark. Contact: hej@hejdanmark.dk. By creating an account or asking a question you accept these terms.
What the chatbot does
It answers questions about life in Denmark for people who moved here: residence and visas, a-kasse and work, tax and money, renting, family matters and daily life. Answers are written by AI from official pages and published Hej Danmark articles, and each answer links to the pages it used. If you attach a letter or contract, the chatbot reads it to understand your situation.
What it is not
- Not legal, tax or financial advice. Answers describe the general rules. They do not assess your own case, and they do not create a client relationship with anyone.
- No guarantee of accuracy. Rules change and AI makes mistakes. We work to keep answers correct and current, but we do not promise that every answer is complete, correct or up to date.
- Not a public authority. Decisions about your permit, tax, benefits or tenancy are made by the authorities and courts. For your own case, contact the authority named in the answer (for example SIRI, Skattestyrelsen, your a-kasse or the municipality) or a lawyer, accountant or legal aid office.
Do not miss a deadline because of an answer here. If a letter gives you a deadline, follow the letter.
Your account and fair use
- You need an account to ask questions. Keep your sign-in to yourself; one account is for one person.
- A free account includes 5 questions in total. A subscription includes a monthly allowance of questions and attached documents, shown in the chatbot.
- Do not use the chatbot to break the law, to harass anyone, to get around the rules it explains, or to send automated or bulk requests. Do not upload documents you have no right to share, and leave out other people’s personal data where you can.
- We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules or puts the service at risk. If we close a paid account for reasons other than a breach, we refund the unused part of the current month.
Subscription, cancellation and refunds
- The subscription is paid monthly through Stripe and renews automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time under Manage subscription in the account menu. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the month you have paid for is not refunded.
- We may change the price or the monthly allowance. We tell subscribers at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
- Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the 14-day right of withdrawal where it applies, are not affected.
Deleting your account
Use Delete account in the account menu. It deletes your conversations and uploaded files, cancels your subscription and removes your sign-in. Payment records stay with Stripe for the period bookkeeping law requires. What we keep and for how long is described in the privacy policy.
Liability
We provide the chatbot as it is. To the extent Danish law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make or losses you suffer because of an answer. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We change the date above when we do, and tell subscribers about material changes by email or in the chatbot. These terms are governed by Danish law, and disputes go to the Danish courts. As a consumer you can also use the Danish public consumer complaints system; forbrug.dk explains how.
